and electrostatic voltmeters of all types are
repaired and certified.

Electrostatic voltmeters require the utmost care
both in the movement work and in the calibration of the instrument. The instrument makers at EIS have personally made and supervised the making of more electrostatic voltmeters than any other group in the world. They are intimately familiar with techniques that enable electrostatic voltmeters to maintain high accuracies, low friction levels, and the high insulation resistance ( 1 x 10 15th ohms ) required for proper operation. The calibration of these units can be done at EIS to 200,000
volts. Specially constructed high voltage dividers similar to NBS designs are used.
